Congrats, Lady Tigers!
We are proud to share that Brock Lauvray, who has been with KEP for 19 years, has led the Lady Tigers Strasburg softball team to their second consecutive Division IV State Championship Title! With this state-run in 2023, the Lady Tigers have made 19 state appearances in their total 38 seasons. We are thrilled that a KEP team member has been able to carry on this legacy in Strasburg.
History Of The Lady Tigers
Brock joined the Lady Tigers team in 2018 as a batting coach. At the time, the team was led by the beloved Coach Bud Weisgarber, who eventually stepped down in 2019. Bud started the Lady Tigers Softball team in 1986 and secured 7 state titles in his tenure with the team. When he decided to retire from coaching, the town of Strasburg was nervous that their softball days had come to an end. However, a new coaching team, led by our very own Brock Lauvray, stepped up to ensure the Lady Tigers’ legacy didn’t fade.
Back-to-Back State Titles
Upon the start of the 2023 season, Brock warned his team of how hard it would be to repeat the state victory that they secured in 2022. They knew they’d have to work even harder to get back to the state championship. But the team showed up and showed out at every lifting session, practice, game, and tournament. Through pure grit and determination, they secured the 2023 state championship!
The KEP Way
The perseverance, commitment, and work ethic Brock displays as a coach and teaches to his team are exactly what makes him such a great KEP team member. You can trust that our KEP employees take their jobs seriously when they display so many of our core values in their personal lives – especially when they teach them to others! Taking time to perfect the basics and putting in hard work is simply the KEP way.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Brock Lauvray and his team on their amazing accomplishment. We can’t wait to see what the 2024 season holds!
