KEP not only provides quality for our customers; our products preserve the integrity of the food or beverage and the health of the consumer.

All KEP sanitary food-grade hose, tubing, and fittings meet industry regulations and standards that make them safe for the consumer. All of our products are manufactured in the U.S. in accordance with the highest safety and compliance standards from a variety of FDA, NSF and USP Class VI compounds. Our food-grade tubing solutions are manufactured in our IMS- and SQF-certified food safety facilities.

FDA Compliant

Our three facilities (Kent, Mogadore & Winesburg, Ohio) are FDA registered. At KEP, we work hard to make sure our processes and materials are FDA compliant – the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates food contact materials to ensure no molecules can migrate from outside materials to the food or beverage product. We follow these regulations and have the expertise to qualify your finished product with the FDA to get it on the market in less time. Currently, the FDA implements more stringent guidelines for endotoxins. We have worked with them to use equipment and protocols to reduce the potential for endotoxins in our processes to ensure FDA approval.

NSF Certified

This certification assures consumers, retailers and regulators that our products have been rigorously tested to comply with all standard requirements. Manufacturers, regulators and consumers look to NSF International for the development of public health standards and certification programs that protect and improve human and environmental health.

IMS Listed

Also regulated by the FDA, our Mogadore and Winesburg facilities are IMS listed (Interstate Milk Shippers). This means our flexible tubing solutions are safe to use with dairy products because we are in compliance with the requirements of the USPHS/FDA Grade “A” Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) procedures set forth in the Methods of Making Sanitation Rating of Milk Shippers and additional guidelines. These strict regulations which have been put in place to minimize risks of contamination and ensure public safety. We’re FDA/IMS certified and have our Level 1 IMS certification, showing our commitment to food industry safety, quality and excellence. Raw materials and packaging used for milk product applications are compliant with the requirements of CFR 174-178.

SQF-Certified

SQF is a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)-based food safety and quality management system. Our Mogadore facility is registered as meeting the requirements of SQF Code Edition 7.1, level 1 certification for safe quality food products. Our SQF-certified food safety facilities meet the demanding standards of the SQF Program. We follow rigorous policies to comply with our customers’ needs, regulatory requirements, and many additional SQF Food Safety requirements that are designed to protect food quality. The facility earned certification through Eagle Food Registrations.

ISO 9001:2015 Compliant

At KEP, our three facilities are ISO 9001:2015 Compliant. The Quality Systems employed at Kent Elastomer Products was tailored to comply with the stringent guidelines of both ISO-9001 and FDA’s Quality System Regulation. ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system that follows regulatory requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement of their systems and conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
